Virtual Reality Experience

Globetrotter celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2019. The challenge was to bring the motto ‘We celebrate outdoors.’ in closed spaces, such as in a store or at a trade fair.

The idea: an expedition created using hyper reality - a combination of real objects, sound effects, vibrating plates, air conditioning systems and wind machines as well as an elaborately designed virtual reality world, embedded in a transportable, 36 square metre box that toured Germany.

Story

Equipped with VR glasses and a mobile backpack, the participants experienced 40 years of Globetrotter history in a kind of museum. The route then led through a secret cave passage to the Huashan Trail: a narrow path made of wooden planks that winds its way around the Hua Shan mountain in China at a dizzying height. The crowning glory of the hyper-reality adventure was a breathtaking balloon ride.
